Fife funeral prices, plainly listed.
Dunfermline is the largest town in west Fife and the historical capital of Scotland. Five funeral directors hold premises in or immediately around the town centre, with several others in nearby Rosyth, Inverkeithing, and Oakley listed on the main directory.
Cremations from Dunfermline almost all go to Dunfermline Crematorium on Masterton Road (KY11 8QR), run by Fife Council. Some families choose Kirkcaldy Crematorium instead — both are about 25 minutes' drive from the town centre. The cremation fee is paid separately to the council and is not included in the funeral director's headline figure unless their price list explicitly says so.
Deaths in Dunfermline are registered at Dunfermline Registration Office, Carnegie Hall, East Port, Dunfermline, KY12 7JA. Booking is by phone — Fife Council's central booking line is 03451 55 00 77. The death must be registered within eight days. For a step-by-step walk-through of the first 48 hours, see what to do when someone dies.
For burials, the main local cemeteries are Douglas Bank, Dunfermline Cemetery on Halbeath Road, and the smaller Dunfermline Abbey churchyard (existing rights only). Lair purchase is arranged through Fife Council Bereavement Services. Several families choose direct cremation instead, which removes the burial-plot decision entirely.

Looking for one specific service? Direct cremation in Fife covers what it is, what's included, and which Fife firms offer it. The full directory of every Fife firm is at funeral directors in Fife. If you've not yet started arranging, the orientation page at what to do when someone dies lists the things that have to happen, in order.
Prices shown are taken from each funeral director's CMA Standardised Price List. They cover the funeral director's own services. They do not include third-party fees: doctor's certification, the cremation or burial fee, the celebrant, flowers, the order-of-service printing, or the wake. Always confirm the current price with the funeral director directly before making a decision.
