About these terms
- Standardised Price List (SPL)
- The price list every UK funeral director is required by law to publish under the Competition and Markets Authority's 2021 Funerals Market Investigation Order. Each list shows the same three product categories so figures are comparable between firms.
- Attended funeral
- A funeral with mourners present, including the funeral director's services, the coffin, transport, care of the body, and a service at a venue of the family's choosing. Third-party fees (cremation or burial fee, the celebrant, flowers, doctor's certification) are extra.
- Direct cremation
- A cremation without a service or attendance. The body is collected, cremated, and the ashes are returned to the family. There is no mourners' attendance at the crematorium. Some Fife firms do not offer it; their card will say "Not offered". This is normal — direct cremation is a recent product category, and absence is not a failing.
- Unattended burial
- A burial without mourners present at the graveside. The funeral director's fee covers care of the body, coffin, and transport to the cemetery; the burial plot fee paid to the local authority is separate.
- Bundled price
- Where the firm publishes a single figure that includes both their own services and the third-party fee (cremation or burial). Most Fife independents publish bundled direct-cremation prices.
Prices shown are taken from each funeral director's CMA Standardised Price List as published on or before 9 May 2026. They cover the funeral director's own services. They do not include third-party fees: doctor's certification, the cremation or burial fee paid to the local authority or crematorium, the minister or celebrant, the death notice, flowers, the order-of-service printing, or the wake. The funeral director will give you a written estimate including all third-party fees before you commit. Always confirm the current price with the funeral director directly before making a decision.
Every price on this site is taken from the funeral director's own Standardised Price List and checked against a second source on the same day. The two sources are recorded for every firm. The Competition and Markets Authority requires every funeral director in the UK to publish a Standardised Price List; Kingdom collects, checks, and republishes the Fife region's lists.
Kingdom Funerals is not paid by any director on this list. There is no commission on calls, no sponsored placement, no paid ranking. Listing order is by town, then alphabetical within town.

About the public reviews
Where a card shows a star rating and a one-line summary, the rating is taken from public review aggregators that mirror Google data, last checked 9 May 2026. The one-line summary is what most reviewers actually say, paraphrased into plain English.
Many firms have no rating shown. That is not a judgement on the firm — it usually means the firm has fewer than eight public reviews, or the review data wasn't reachable from a public source. A small sample of two or three reviews tells you very little about a firm with confidence; rather than show a fragile number, the card simply omits it. Asking the firm for a couple of recent references is a reasonable next step.
Kingdom doesn't run its own review system. There is no review form on this site, no five-star widget, no "leave a review" button. The trust premise of this directory is the price data, not curated testimonials.
